My Kraut and Kimchi Hacks

We often get asked "what do you eat your sauerkraut and kimchi with?" and our go-to answer is "EVERYTHING!". But we get that's not actually that helpful, so we wanted to share with you just a few ways to enjoy Crafty Pickle ferments with minimal effort and in the blink of an eye. It's easy to forget the simple things and sometimes the simplest meals, topped with some of our kraut and kimchi of course, taste the best.

1. WITH MY TAKEAWAY

For those nights when you don't want to cook but you also want to try something different. I always try new ways of adding kraut/kimchi to my takeout. In the picture below I've added some Not Your Nana's Piccalilli Kraut to my noodles.

2. KIMCHI SANDWICH

When I'm on the go working, or perhaps my kitchen cupboard is looking bare a sandwich never lets you down! It may seem too simple to be true, but a buttered piece of bread filled with a kraut or kimchi of your choice can go a long way. My new favourite thing to do is grab a slice of bread and fill it with Katz Kimchi, It never fails to surprise me how such a quick and easy snack can be so fulfilling.

3. CRACKERS, CHEESE AND KRAUT

Going for a picnic? Crackers, cheese and Kraut are perfect for travelling or days out. Taking up minimal space in your bag as well as being super easy to purchase. This combination takes your usual snack to whole other level. Whether you want a spicy Katz Kimchi or our tangy Reclaimed Red Kraut. Leave everyone else in awe when you whip out your jar of pure flavour!

4. COLESLAW KRAUT

Don't be afraid to experiment. Add your own mayonnaise (vegan or not) to our limited batch Red Coleslaw Kraut and you've got yourself the quickest 'homemade' coleslaw.

Everyone at the BBQ will be left dazzled as to how you pulled off such a flavoursome side. Unrecognizable and extremely delicious! And if we don't have any of our Crafty Coleslaw Kraut left then try one of our other krauts with mayo.

5. CRISPS, CHIPS, NO NEED TO BUY DIPS

Switch up your usual snacks to something more substantial. You could replace your usual salsa for some Crafty Kimchi or a hot salsa for some spicy Katz Kimchi. Or add on top of your usual guac or hummus to. I love using my Crafty Pickle ferments to make the small snacks go further. You can have fun playing around with different crisp flavours and seeing what happens when combining them with different sauerkrauts or kimchis.
